Adding a Location to an Item of a Workspace
How Locations affect Items & Workspaces
Items
Your company may have multiple locations, such as different warehouses, offices or other ways of segmenting inventory by location. You can assign specific inventory quantities to each location. For example, you might have 5 units of an item inLocation A and another 5 units in Location B.
To assign a Location to an Item, update the Item’s quantity and specify the locations where the inventory should be allocated.
Workspaces / Auctions
You can also assign a Location to a Workspace. For an auction, this could be the office that is hosting the auction. This ensures that the Workspace can only access inventory from that specific location. This is useful when setting aside inventory for an event, promotion, or any situation where inventory should be restricted to a particular location.
• If a Workspace is assigned to Location A, you cannot add items from Location B to it.
• However, if a Workspace does NOT have a Location assigned, you can add items from multiple locations.
To assign a Location to a Workspace, go to the Workspace details section, click the Location dropdown menu, and select the desired location.
Importing Items with Location into a Workspace
If you have assigned a Location to your Workspace, the imported items must also have that same Location assigned to them. You can add this Location name in a column of the CSV as shown in the template.
